Whether it’s a GED, Bachelors, Masters, PHD, vocational training, or a recreational endeavor (such as a cooking class!), Grand Avenue Club values every level of educational pursuit and provides on-going support to all members with educational aspirations.

Establish Partnerships

Grand Avenue Club regularly maintains a relationship with educational resources and institutions such as the Literacy Services of Wisconsin, Milwaukee Area Technical College, University of Wisconsin Milwaukee as well as the Milwaukee Rec Department of Milwaukee Public Schools.

Registration, Enrollment, and Class Selection

Direct support for colleagues is available at every step of the educational process, whether informal or formal, at the pace set by the individual. We do not pressure our colleagues in any aspect of their personal goals, but strongly encourage them along their way.

Scholarships and Financial Aid

Members receive assistance filling out their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form and any other applicable forms by an experienced colleague. We are also able to offer limited financial support through private scholarships.

Accommodations and In-House Support

Our established partnerships are essential to accommodations at each educational institution. A GAC colleague will attend the campus with the member to ensure they receive the accommodations, such as increased testing time, adaptive technology for physical impairments, etc., and advising as needed. Within the Clubhouse, we offer limited tutoring, computer access, a library, and quiet study space.
